KENT, Ohio — Season tickets for the 2023-24 Kent State women’s basketball season are now on-sale, as head coach Todd Starkey announced the team’s schedule on Wednesday.
The Golden Flashes’ 29-game regular season schedule includes 13 contests at the M.A.C. Center and two matchups with teams in ESPNW’s Way-Too-Early Top 25 rankings. Kent State, which owns three wins against Power-5 programs over the past two seasons, will have three opportunities overall to #FlyTheFlag this year. The Flashes beat Oklahoma State last November after taking down 19th-ranked UCLA and Penn State two seasons ago.
“Our non-conference schedule proves to once again be one that will test us in a significant way as we prepare for another great season of MAC basketball,” Starkey said. “Highlighted by defending national champion LSU and a return game against Florida State in Tallahassee, we’re looking forward to attacking this schedule with another talented version of Kent State Women’s Basketball.”
Non-Conference Schedule
Kent State is scheduled for an exhibition matchup against Muskingum on Nov. 5 before playing five straight away from the M.A.C. Center.
The regular season begins on Nov. 12 at Louisiana with a contest that is part of the inaugural MAC-Sun Belt Challenge. The Flashes will remain in the Pelican State to battle 2023 national champion LSU on Nov. 14.
Thanksgiving week will be busy with a game at Xavier on Nov. 21 before the first of two trips to Florida for the Daytona Beach Classic. Kent State is scheduled to play a Chattanooga team coming off a NCAA Tournament appearance on Nov. 24 and Missouri on Nov. 25.
The home opener is scheduled for Nov. 29 against Coppin State. The Flashes will then visit Florida State on Dec. 3 and Duquesne on Dec. 10 before closing the calendar year at home against Lake Erie on Dec. 19 and La Roche on Dec. 30.
The final non-league game will be played on Feb. 10 as Kent State hosts a to-be-determined opponent as part of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge.
MAC Schedule
Kent State’s 18-game conference schedule starts with a road trip to Buffalo on Jan. 3. The Flashes will then play three of the next four games at the M.A.C. Center beginning Jan. 6 against Ohio.
In addition to the Bulls and Bobcats, Kent State is also scheduled to play against Akron, Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Toledo twice each. The Flashes will play just one time against Bowling Green, Miami, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan.
